Competition was attended by 34 proposal. The Guild of Medallic Art
in Finland invited art students from Finland, University of
Wolverhampton (School of Art and Design) and Academy of Fine Arts in
Warsaw to participate in the art medal competition.
Theme of the
competition was open.
Jury consisted of Guild's Board of Directors sculptor Sakari
Kannosto, Outi Järvinen (National Board of Antiquities), sculptor
Anne Meskanen, Tapio Suominen (Tampere Art Museum) and Kari Vaalas.
The
Guild of Medallic Art in Finland is seeking to help young artists to
find their voice in medallic art. The entries will be exhibited in
the Guild´s
web gallery.

ART MEDAL COMPETITION 2012 for students of fine
arts Invitation
The Guild of Medallic Art in Finland invites art students to participate in
the art medal competition. Participation is open to visual arts students in Finland, a
qualification or degree in manufacturing of art schools students.
To the competition is invited to participate art students from
England (University of Wolverhampton) and Poland (Academy of Fine
Arts in Warsaw). Theme
of the competition is free.
Competition - the task The Guild of Medallic Art in Finland is seeking to help young artists to find
their voice and style. In order to medal in artistic development and production
could go on favorably.
The entries will be exhibited in the Guild web gallery www.mitalitaide.fi.
The definition of a medal
The medal is understood here as sculpture belonging reproducible two-sided art object. The competition entry must be submitted two-sided, either in one
or two copies, so that shows the strength of the final medal. A proposal
may have a diameter of 80-120 mm. Theme of the competition and the technology is free, but that is
accompanied by evidence of the manufacturing technique.
Competition time
The
competition will end on Friday 27.4.2012.
Participants
The competition entries are anonymous. The competitor must be accompanied by contact details and
information of educational institution in a closed envelope attached to the competition entry.
The prizes 1. prize of 600 Euros 2. prize 250 Euros 3. prize 150 Euros
The jury may decide to choose the distribution of prize amounts in
some other way.
Results of the competition
The jury is constituted by the regime of The Guild of Medallic Art.
The competition will be judged in May 2012. Competition results will be announced as soon as the competition is awarded at Guilds website at www.mitalitaide.fi. Winners
will be notified personally.
All entries factors have a copyright proposal.
Participating in competitive factors bind to the Promoter the right
to move proposals for information, exhibition and marketing
purposes, however, so that their names are always mentioned.
Entries can be sent either by mail or by bringing to the
Guild´s office. Proposals are received by the Guild office Koroistentie 5 A (Helsinki)
Thursday 26.4. at 14-18, and on Friday
27.4. at 12-16.
Domestically last day of mailing (postmark) is 27.4. Foreign mailings must be received by 27.4.
